Klassiska Boulder Dash har fått en ny ägare och det är tyska BBG Entertainment som köpte det av First Star Software. Och det planeras versioner till Xbox, Playstation och Nintendo Switch bland annat.
BBG ligger bakom spel som Einstein Brain Trainer och Dynobaster. De säger att Boulder Dash gör deras portfolio komplett.

I’m confident they will nurture its legacy from here on. I wish BBG great success and am keen on following the brand’s path under BBG’s ownership.” sade Richard M. Spitalny, President of First Star Software.
Stephan Berendsen säger i sin tur “We are proud to take care of such a famous retro game brand. We will continue working on new versions including new features like Online Multiplayer as well as ports to game consoles like Xbox, Playstation, Switch and more.”
Dagens historielektion. Boulder Dash gjorde intåg is spelvärlden 1984 på Commodore 64 (världens genom tiderna bäst säljande dator), Apple II och Atari 4/800. Uppföljaren Boulder Dash Volume 2 – Rockfords Revenge släpptes av Electronic Arts tillsammans med första spelet och gick under namnet Super Boulder Dash och kom till Commodore 64, Apple II, IBM-CGA och Atari 4/800 mellan åren 1986-87.
